District Helpful Information Notice
Dear West Meadows Metro District Residents,
We are excited to share some helpful information about the West Meadows Metropolitan District and how it serves our community. Understanding what the District is responsible for helps ensure that we are all on the same page when it comes to maintaining an attractive landscape along Coal Mine Avenue.
About the District:
· The West Meadows Metropolitan District is a small governmental body responsible for landscaping and watering along Coal Mine Avenue – starting at the two stone monuments at Simms Street and continuing to the end of Summit Ridge Subdivision just past Ward Street.
· All work is funded by a small portion of property tax dollars and managed by a volunteer District Board that represents you.
· You can find more information, including upcoming meetings and project updates, at www.westmeadowsdistrict.com.
· A helpful map of the areas we maintain is also available online.
Volunteers Needed:
There is an open position on the District Board of Directors.
Serving as a Board Member is a wonderful opportunity to get involved in your community and play an active role in maintaining and improving the neighborhood. Board members are elected for four-year terms. However, when a vacancy occurs, and an individual can be appointed to the Board, the term for that appointment runs to the next regular election. See district website for further information.
Responsibilities of the Board:
· Attend quarterly District meetings.
· Members may participate in occasional site walks during the maintenance season.
· Board Members are compensated for attending meetings.
· The role typically requires about 1-2 hours per month, which includes reviewing materials and responding to occasional emails between meetings.
If you are interested in serving and would like to learn more, please refer to the district website at westmeadowsdistrict.com and contact the District Management Team at westmeadowsmetro@westwindmanagement.com.
Thank you for helping us keep West Meadows a welcoming and well-maintained place to call home. Together, we can ensure our community remains a beautiful and enjoyable place for everyone!
